88 years

There is 88 years between them, I just hope the younger one can remember her Great Grandmother when she gets older.

School Closings

President Obama was in town today to promote his dedication to education. In the several hours I had to wait around during security sweeps I wandered down the block to see this school that has been set for closing. The President could have easily seen this school if he looked, just briefly, over his left shoulder as he exited his limo. It was that close to the school where he was promoting education.
My Father taught school for a long time, 30 plus years, and I learned from him (among other things) that small class rooms were better for teaching and learning.

This school is being closed because the classrooms were not filled to capacity.

Ironic on so many levels.

Discards
